Walther is specialised on counselling national and international high net worth individuals (HNWIs), ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWIs), entrepreneurs and their families on their global wealth affairs. He also works with family offices and institutional clients, such as private equity firms, investment management companies and property holding companies on global private wealth and investment structuring topics.
Throughout his international professional career, Walther has been focusing for decades on advising clients on the legal and taxation aspects of estate planning, which covers the formation of trusts in numerous jurisdictions, the set-up of Luxembourg special purpose vehicles and investment funds, with special attention to an integrated tax, trusts and estate wealth planning and structuring. He is continuously involved in cross-border transactions aiming the acquisitions of identified investment targets, as well as the successful completion of real estate investments. Walther has extensive experience with insurance contracts and fiduciary agreements for asset holding purposes of private clients. In addition, Walther has been involved with the drafting of complex international contracts.
Within the scope of Walther’s competencies do, furthermore, fall family office services, family governance matters, reputation management issues, business succession planning, as well as charitable donations, philanthropy and matrimonial agreements for estate planning purposes of wealthy clients worldwide. He is also providing advice on relocation of private clients to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which includes expert advice on administrative, regulatory and taxation aspects throughout the process.
Walther has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1993. Prior to joining Deynecourt, Walther was partner in another Luxembourg law firm.
Walther is fluent in English, German and French, and speaks moderate Italian.
